The figure before him immediately captured all of Ciel’s attention. His mouth gaped slightly in surprise, and his relaxed demeanor tensed. The papers in his hands turned meaningless, they slipped through his appendages and landed softly in a scattered mess on his desk. He blinked once, and the woman didn’t distort or falter, as it should if it was an illusion of his mind. Ciel’s thoughts were jumbled. How is this possible? A pale hand lifted to his left eye and rubbed it, to test again if this was a reality or not. When his hand dropped and she still stood there, he had no choice but to accept this presence, real or not.

However, it didn’t mean he could come up with a sentence, or even a single word to speak aloud to this vision. His mother was dead, she was burned along with the manor over two years ago.
