
Really? I was half expecting you to accuse me of something, I certainly wouldn’t put it past you.
Alois indeed wouldn’t. Ciel never kept it secret just how much he disliked his fellow Earl, and he’d let Alois know in the form of biting remarks and icy glares. It was enough to make Alois wonder exactly what he’d done to go and get on the Phantomhive’s bad side, but he also knew he didn’t exactly try and behave himself around Ciel. After all, the uptight Earl was easy to irritate, and Alois found it amusing, so why bother behaving specifically for the sake of societal expectations?
A simple shrug and a slightly haughty attitude lacing the boy’s voice, Alois answered Ciel’s question.
I’m not sure, an hour perhaps?
“Such a child,” the Earl muttered, even though he was technically a child himself. Ciel may reside in the body of a child, but he built his mind on other things. Playful nature and happiness were shattered by hatred and despair. Hopes of living up to expectations were gone, and the only thing left for Ciel Phantomhive was his goal. He gave up his future for this, and his soul. The fact that Alois did the same, but still acted even younger than he was, was enough to tick him off. It was embarrassing, having this boy step into his mansion, but all he could do for the moment was bear with it.

Ciel’s eye twitched. “Who said I will allow you to stay for that long?” The growing impatience and anger sounded in the Earl’s voice.
