The question took him by surprise and it made him think. Would he want all his pieces to fall before his eyes one by one, or lose everything in one turn? Sadly, the earl has experienced both sides of that coin.
“It doesn’t matter. I have nothing to lose.” He was right. He lost his entire future, his home, his family, his happiness - it was all stolen right from under his nose in a matter of seconds. All he had now was a goal, and after he completed it, he’d leave the world anyway.

Kitty pouted once more, but then smiled once more. He was much smarter then she originally took him for. He paid attention. She -liked- that. “Good answer. You’re a very smart boy…” her smile seemed bitter, as it pulled into a toothy grin.
