She couldn’t hide her pride. Not that she truly wanted to. A soft giggle escaped her lips.

“Oh my dear, don’t you know? It’s my job to wear a smile day in and day out.” She rested her chin in the palm of her hand, and leaned from her current perch, sprawled along the tile in front of him, her dark brown robe hiding her frame.

“Always smiling…that’s all I’ve done around you.” she mused, her smile fading slightly as she thought on that. Originally her plans were simply to sneak in, access the manor, and if the security was too much to handle move on. She had a gut feeling that robbing the Earl at all would result in her suffering somehow, so she had dropped all plans the minute she left the first time.

But something about him had called her back, and now, this kitty was right back at square one.

It seemed his question currently had her zoning out, her smile no longer present. He’d wiped the smile right off her pretty little face.

His eyes narrowed at her explanation. He knew it was a fib, that she was supposed to smile. He looked down on her in her position - at the ears, and the tail. He’s seen some strange things in his lifetime, but never this. The creature’s devilish smirk faded as her eyes wandered from his. Ciel wondered what the girl could be thinking of, or why what he said seemed to upset her.

Though Ciel felt that he should have thrown her out, he didn’t. Not just yet. Nothing was taken from him, that Sebastian had confirmed the last time she ‘visited’. Though it was a mystery how she got into the house without being noticed, she gave her credit for it. To get past all his servants - though maybe not Sebastian - was tough.

“Why have you been smiling around me?” he asked her, his brow lifting curiously. The girl seemed lost in her thoughts.
