Elizabeth couldn’t place why it saddened her to see Ciel’s eyes looking like that despite his body changes. But it always saddened her to look into Ciel’s eye and see however much pain he was harboring behind them, the distance he was keeping everyone away. It was almost as if looking into her eyes like that was transferring over some of the upset feelings.

It’s just…..seeing my eyes…..looking as sad as yours….. It makes me sad.

His widened eyes settled into his usual half-lidded stare. Of course, he should have figured that. The way Elizabeth cared for him was something he could never quite place. Ciel didn’t really know what to say to that, but he figured that if he were to be in her body, he shouldn’t turn her pretty smile into a frown.

“I suppose I shouldn’t be too sad, they could have turned me into an unattractive lady,” he said confidently, trying to compliment her. Even though the situation was by far the weirdest he’s ever been in, he was glad Elizabeth reacted more calmly than he anticipated.
