For Elizabeth, it was easy to turn her mood around given the right responses from Ciel. Any kind of positive reaction from him was a good positive reaction. She would never argue it, far from it.

The frown returned to his - her - features as he thought back to what the anonymous had said. “Until tomorrow,” he confirmed, his eyes wandering from hers. He rarely gave Elizabeth any kind of affection. Only small comments here and there to lift her spirits, or pulling a smile for a few moments.. even asking a dance. He didn’t know how to do much of anything else. And he never had time to learn. Ciel was confident Lizzie wasn’t going to disappear for the remainder of his life, nor would she change much. 

He never found a reason to do more than what he has done, anyway.
