Her bright blue eyes slid back towards where the maid was busy stirring the boiling pot. Finally, the stench had caught up, and she shuddered.
“Well…Because I don’t think I’m supposed to be wandering around like this.” She explained. She imagined if she was in a cage before hand, unlocked yes, but a cage none the less, then her freedoms were likely restricted. So far though, she didn’t have much reason to fear.
As the maid’s attention shifted, she ducked again further in the corner. The purple haired woman had begun to walk to a cabinet, the open one, and she seemed to freeze there for a while. This would be the perfect chance to get out of the kitchen. To explore more. The kitchen wouldn’t do them any good if they were stuck, unless what they needed was in that boarded up room behind her. She steeled herself, climbing to her feet and silently signaling he following, putting a gentle finger to her lips that with following, he should be sure to be silent. She waved him forward as she hugged the wall, making her way out the door she came in, still wide open. She paused to allow Ciel through first, not wanting him caught. As she turned to exit herself, she heard the same sound of heels turning to face her, and she froze.
She only turned when the woman behind her had finally addressed her.
”Miss?” The maid had spoken, Fiona’s blue eyes making eye contact. Though not willingly. “Y-Yes?” She asked, taking a small step back. The maid no movement. Eye’s locked onto the foreign girl that her master had put her in her care. “Please go rest. My master does not wish for you to… interrupt. Dinner will be served…shortly.” For some reason, the maid’s tone, despite how emotionless it was, seemed annoyed. But Fiona pushed the idea away and nodded her head once. “I…I’m sorry” She said, quickly, before rushing out of the room, the strange robotic woman watching with each step she took.
Once out of the room, Fiona sighed.
The dinning room still looked as it should. A table, long and narrow with several chairs, with a nice table cloth, and even candles… Certainly, this was not the area that was reserved for every day use…, Had the owner of this place planned an event recently? If so…
Fiona shook her head, irrational train of thought wasn’t going to get them out of here. That was for sure. The silence now rang thick in the air, but at least they could communicate without whispers now. She turned her gaze back to him again, and provided another gentle smile. She’d be sure to get them both out of here alive. This was not the place for a child to be. “Shall we explore more?” She asked. There was still one corridor she had yet to explore…and it was just before the dinning room. If she could access it with Ciel, perhaps they could find some clues as to why they were here. So far, her only real clue had been from the ever cryptic maid.
“Yes Master…We will keep her here for a while.”
All she’d gotten from that, was that there was more then just one person responsible…and that she was to be kept here. Now it was time to fill in the blanks.
“If we explore more…” She explained. “We might be able to piece together clues…answers..! Why are we here…? And why do we have to stay here?” She took in a deep breath once more. Closing her eyes, only to be met with small flashes of scenes, things that had happened before the gap in her memory. There was mom…and Daddy…Daddy was driving…. She reopened her eyes once more and, making sure he was following, led him through the few areas she had mentally mapped out so far. Both of their foot steps echoing in harmony along the stone floors. Eventually, the familiar area she knew she had yet to explore had surfaced. And she opened the door, peeking in. From the looks of it, no one was even around. And this corridor was a straight shot. She opened the door all the way, and again, allowed him entry first before joining beside him.
“This is an area I haven’t explored yet…” She explained. It was then she noticed, as they walked down the long corridor, one of the long structures, a large pillar, stood out to her. On closer examination, she soon discovered why.
R-Red…B-Blood…?!
Fiona toppled down onto her knees, an audible gasp escaping her. Panic had set in. But only enough to send her heart beat into a frenzy. After a few seconds, she arose to her feet again.
Well that was the last time she’d take in her surroundings.
Pulling herself together, she quickly regrouped with the younger, and the two finally could traverse the rest of the corridor…which appeared to veer off to the right. But just as they came closer, Fiona paused, halting Ciel from moving so much as an inch closer. Something was off. A shadow could be seen moving, and it couldn’t be either of theirs, judging from the massive width of it…
Feeling her heart beat begin to race once more, she inched closer to the wall, and peeked.
The wind blew past her, and it was enough to knock her to the ground. Not from the force of it it’s self, but from the lack of warning. Something had been thrown past her…and it missed barely. On the ground before her, as her eyes flew to the object in question, was…simply a doll. She swallowed deeply, as her vision panned upward at the stalking figure, and her heart went into a full on panic.
Standing massively, the strange creature bent down to grab it’s doll, a big beefy hand clenching it roughly. His large round fish eyes locked to it. Fiona prayed in vain, but the creatures line of sight soon locked onto her, and then onto Ciel. And from it’s body language it was clear. It was bored of it’s current toy. It was seeking new ones…
A low and child like chuckle escaped it, and it raised it’s large beefy arms, excitedly, before charging right for them. It barely gave Fiona time to jump to her feet, much less issue her only warning. “Run Ciel!” She screamed, her arms instantly flying around him as she hauled him up, carrying him instead away from the beast that now had it’s sights set on them. The only thing she’d heard from it, before turning the sharp corner into the corridor just outside the dinning rooms and her own, was a faint and garbled mesh of the words.
“MyDolly.”
Her response made him come to the realization that most of the people in this place were not their friend. If she wasn’t supposed to be wandering, and he was shoved into a cabinet like a can of food, then any kind of confrontation with these people - especially the servants - could be dangerous.
The sound of heels made his eyes widen. He stepped back into the corner of darkness and watched the mysterious maid walk over to the cabinets. His heart was pounding, frightened that they would be found, or that the cabinet he once resided in would be opened. Who knew what would happen? Would he be hunted down? Without Sebastian, he had no weapon to use against these people. It made him extremely uneasy, almost nauseous. The maid who was now in front of a cabinet (not his thankfully), just stood there. Staring. The boy lifted a brow as he watched the woman. It was like she was in a trance. Her face was completely stern, and she was just.. glaring at the wood. Her sanity could be questioned, as it felt like hours that she stood there before they decided to make a move. Ciel noted that the girl’s composure was completely robotic. Was she even human?
When he got the signal to move, he took it. Though the maid’s behavior made him question if she truly could not hear them. If she was standing there, completely silent, with absolutely no sound of anything but whatever was growing in that pot, she could hear them moving. The young earl didn’t think much of going in first, his eyes wandering around the new room. Though he froze when he heard an emotionless tone come from behind him - though it wasn’t Fiona’s. He knew the maid wasn’t addressing him, and that he was free - but he still felt trapped. If he lost this person now, what could he do alone? He’d be able to wander on his own, yes. He might’ve preferred that. But he didn’t have a single weapon, and he doubted he would find a gun laying around. His body slowly turned, though he could only see the door frame. The conversation didn’t last long, and when she stepped in hurriedly, he exhaled in relief.
Ciel didn't necessary care for the girl - he just didn’t want to see what would have happened if she wasn’t let off. However robotic and creepy the maid sounded, she didn’t harm Fiona. The boy questioned the danger of this place once more, but was pulled out of his thoughts by Fiona’s question. Ciel wasn’t too sure of the woman who was now his companion in this entire thing. She seemed very frightened, however her head was working properly - she even smiled at him (which he didn’t return) and she wanted to explore. It wouldn’t have been the bluenette’s first choice of action, but maybe looking for useful tools would keep them alive a little bit longer. Hopefully long enough to get some information. That’s what Ciel wanted the most. Giving her nothing but a small nod, he followed her into the next room.
It wasn’t a room, it was a corridor. Fiona was hugging the walls repeatedly, something Ciel never thought of. He would be careful if on his own, but peeking around corners was silly. If something was there, then there would be some kind of indication.
The sudden panic the girl went into undoubtedly freaked him out. He watched her spiral into a trance of insanity, his eyes following what made her so unstable. A pillar, colored red. The sharp copper smell filled his nose, and he realized what made her fall into a frenzy. Ciel has seen enough blood to not be effected to the point of panic, however the nausea he felt worsened considerably. Where the hell am I?
Ciel decided not to question Fiona as she collected herself. It was obvious she wasn’t used to this kind of thing, and hell - neither was he. The only time he was actually worried for himself and anything that could happen was three years ago when those ugly men abducted him after the murder of his parents and the loss of his home. A boy, young and abused, was desperate for help of any kind. The crow that flew around him soon became his ally, after selling his soul to it - of course. The butler that was supposed to stand by his side until the end of it all… wasn’t here.
A giant shadow and heavy breathing was a good example of an indication, by the way.
A wave of fear shot through the earl, and his heart began to beat faster. He stood closer to Fiona, despite being halted, to get a better look. It was moving closer to them - the giant shadow stepping accordingly with the loud footsteps. Just as he was about to tug on her arm to signal that they should go back, it was too late.

An object flew past them both, it nearly skimming Ciel’s nose. An audible gasp escaped him, his eyes completely widened with horror. He followed the objects landing point, to see it was only a doll. Though still standing, he couldn’t move. The steps became closer, and the boy couldn’t look away as the monster came into view. It was a giant - an ogre - with giant eyes and a dopey looking face. It’s body was unnaturally large, and Ciel started to quiver as they made eye contact. Ciel’s immediate reaction was to run away, but his body was completely still. He was grounded. He couldn’t speak - just stare in awe and abhorrence. It started to charge at them, but not even that pulled Ciel out of his daze of utter shock.
“RUN CIEL!”
The sound of Fiona’s voice - suddenly desperate, echoed in his mind. Though only until the giant being came close enough to grab him, did he move. Her arms hauled him out of his chance, and when he turned to run - he was suddenly grateful. If he stayed put another instant, the huge arms that swung at him would have held him in a complete lockdown. He couldn’t help but let out a scream as he sprinted forward, already out of breath and control of himself from the thoughts in his mind and everything that’s happened so far. His teeth were clenched as he ran, blindly making turns, just begging that the maid didn’t show up. He heard the large, pounding feet behind them. If he stopped, he would be dead.
Desperation settled in as he made his way through out the area. Any doors that could be closed were slammed shut in attempt to slow the monster down, and he was glad that him and Fiona were going in the same direction. But Ciel’s attempt at widening the gap between them and the monster failed, as it doors swung open or broke down right when they were closed. Soon however, they got to a room - it looked like a bedroom. Coming up to it, he heard static. The static started to echo in his head, blurring out his thoughts. White noise wasn’t what he needed now. The sound of it was making him confused and delusional. As they both stepped into the room, it wasn’t a second before Ciel dropped himself to the ground. He slid under the bed out of pure instinct. The noise that filled the room was making him shake harder. He didn’t have a chance to see what was causing it, and he didn’t understand why it bothered him so much.
The giant feet stepped into the room like stones, and he stared at them as they moved. He looked around to find Fiona, not even realizing that she was right next to him. It seemed her instinct acted just as fast as did.
Her response made him come to the realization that most of the people in this place were not their friend. If she wasn’t...
The blonde took a deep breath, nodding as she followed him through the hallway. soon enough, they stood in what seemed...
An irritated sigh escaped him, though anger wasn’t the only emotion pinned on him at the moment. Confusion and sadness...
