Once they got into the room, she noted that both had that very same instinct after she’d slammed her door shut. Under the bed!
Seconds later, the familiar thudding rumbled into the room, another chuckle following as he scouted the area. Fiona held her breath, though her lungs felt so weak. She desperately held it as the creatures feet appeared in their line of sight. Her blue eyes couldn’t get wider; Had it found them?
The static attracted the behemoth, as it stomped over to the device making the noise. With a garble of it’s own, it raised it’s arms, and seemed to even smack the device a few times. Maybe in an effort to fix it?
It seemed to give that up rather quickly, but it’s steps were less quick, searching. It sniffed the air audibly, and a grin came to it’s face, lighting it up as a goofy laugh came from it’s mouth. It settled on describing whatever scent it’d caught as a “Good Smell”, though even that was still garbled. It scanned the room once more, taking it’s time. Fiona shuddered restlessly, how long would it honestly take? The seconds ticked away, feeling like hours.
Finally, it began to make it’s way out, it seemed to enjoy this game of hide and seek, but must have given up finding the two there. The coast seemed clear, and all fell silent.
Fiona peeked out a bit, all seemed clear. Finally, she let out the breath she’d held, but kept an ear out…!!!
No! He’s coming back!
She ducked right back under. When would this end…?
…The sound of steps did not enter into the room, and instead, faded once more. It must have gone in the opposite direction in it’s search. Good.
Fiona quickly crawled out and once again rose to her feet. She would have to get used to running it seemed. As well as hiding…, perhaps even get used to being powerless. This would make progress on getting their answers troublesome.. and she certainly wasn’t about to let a child wander these old, filthy castle walls alone. He too, would be powerless, and an easy target with how he responded to fear. Fear froze him in place, fear was their collective enemy.
She shook her head to herself, how could they make progress if they would need to both hide, and run the risk of separation, because neither was a capable fighter?
Well standing around wasn’t going to help…, she turned and bent to his level.
“It’s safe now.” She said, and stood back to her full height. She kept as positive as she could, keeping a smile on her face. Even if all she wanted was to curl up in fear, to scream and hope her parents had contacted authorities…despite herself having no clue as to where they could be in the world…Where could a castle like this be?
Her eyes traveled to the open bedroom door. The only way they could go now, there was still that boarded up area in the kitchen. Could it have a map of the castle? There had to be some place, that had a layout of some sort for them to use.
The question was, would Ciel want to venture out with her once more? He was certainly free to use her room as a safe haven. She herself, would return here should she need to. No matter how long it took, she vowed to get them both out alive. And if possible, home. Where ever home might be for him. And once she was home, she could go back to her studies. How she missed art, and she had only started her basics in music. She was thankfully for her break yes, but she never thought she’d spend it…in a place like this. Or in a situation like this.Aside from that boarded area…they could try the corridor again. She shuddered slightly, hoping the creature had been led far away from that area.
“If you want Ciel…you could stay here. I’ll go ahead. I’ll bring anything we need to discuss about back here.” Fiona turned to check the grand father clock in the guest room, they had spent the better half of an hour hiding under the bed. 30 minutes, lost. But patience would fair them better, and patience might be all they have.
“Otherwise…I’m going to check the corridor again. I don’t think that…thing…went back there. There’s got to be something there…!” Something someone didn’t want them to find. She had only gotten a glance down where the giant creature wasn’t blocking, and saw a narrow hall way, a short one. There could be a door there as well.
Fiona sucked in a breath, and exhaled. It was time for another jog around the castle. She waited to see if Ciel would follow, or if he would stay, as she made her way to the open door.

It was only now that he was lying down on a cold stone floor, that he could feel the vibrations of the giant move closer and closer toward them. Both his eyes were desperate and wide, staring at the open door, waiting. It didn’t take more than a few seconds before disgusting, large feet stomped their way into the room. The sound coming from the TV was still bouncing around in his head, making it hard to think. If that.. thing.. found them, who knew what would happen? Maybe they’d be put into confinement once more, or killed. It’s not like he could be saved in this situation so his worries were three times as high. Even though the heat from the girl Fiona should make him feel a little bit safer, there was no way he could think about ever being safe again as he watched those large feet stomp their way through out the room. The constant buzzing sound attracted the being closer to the TV, and even though Ciel watched the behemoth tread toward the box, the loud slap of the TV made him jump. As he hit his head on the bottom of the bed, and gasped lightly (but it sounded so loud in his own ears), he covered his mouth and forced himself not to breathe. His body was so still, he felt like he was turning to stone. The only thing that even twitched was his eyes because dust was scattered under the bed. The creature stopped smacking the television moments after the bluenette’s unexpected panic. He could only connect the creature’s sudden stop to himself, that he just killed the both of them in less than an instant. His eyes slammed closed and he put his head down onto the stone, feeling the cold surface against his cheeks. We’re dead.
But instead of throwing the bed off of them, or getting on it’s hands and knees to focus his big fish eyes on the two, he just stood there. Seconds soon turned to minutes, and those minutes were slow but passing. It took about five minutes of the beasts heavy breathing and stillness to make Ciel reopen his eyes. They weren’t as wide anymore, since his temporary panic had thankfully died down. Yes, he confirmed that they shouldn’t be moving about unless they wanted to be killed. Then again, they would probably die by staying put as well. In a lose-lose situation like this, it was times like these where he wished his body wasn’t so fragile and petite. He could barely hold a weight, let alone fight a good fight against any of these people. Even the maid - who had pretty much the same build as his companion, Fiona, would be a challenge. It wasn’t his fault he was so small, but in times like these he cursed it. He was only thirteen, so even if he wasn’t so small for his age, he still wouldn’t be that big. Though maybe if he took up fencing earlier, he could of possibly stabbed this giant in the head. But his height tramples that idea too. He would clearly be overpowered.
It was a miracle when the morphed man decided to take his leave. His steps were as loud as when he came in, but instead of coming closer, they were descending elsewhere. A shower of relief washed over him as he started to climb out, along with Fiona. He was about to stand up when he heard those same footsteps pounding their way back to them. His eyes were as wide as quarters as another panic set in. He scrambled his way back under the bed and waited, though the beast didn’t return. Instead it found a new path to look for them, though Ciel stayed under the bed for a few more minutes until he was sure the creature wasn’t returning.
After climbing to his feet, Ciel let out a long sigh. His heart was still racing, and he felt the adrenaline pulsing in his veins like sugar. He knew that running and hiding would become their strategy, though he feared how well it would work. The ‘person’ they just encountered looked and sounded very dimwitted. But what about the maid? Could she be fooled so easily? It made him wonder who else was in this place. Then a realization came to him about his surroundings. There was no way he was in an ordinary house or mansion. His own manor was decorated to look top-notch, with the best furniture, sculptures, woods, wallpaper, the works. All there was in this place was a dark grey stone wall and floor, with a few items that were not placed to match. Then it hit him: Was he in the castle he came to investigate? Well, he got himself a few answers already: Yes, this place is suspicious. No, it should not be there. Yes, the people are deranged.
Great. Once he finds someone to tell that to, that information might be useful.
As she knelt down to meet his eye level, he nodded to her in response. Of course, being treated like such a child bothered him to no end. But she would soon realize that he wasn’t a normal boy. Maybe the demon seal on his eye gave it away, but there was no chance that he would let himself act childish. Especially in a situation like this. He was expected to get back to the Queen with information and be able to report the person running this place was dead. It seemed unlikely at the moment, considering he was trapped with an ogre chasing him without any means of protecting himself, but as the Queen’s guard dog he would not fail.

“No, I’m going with you,” he replied, his voice stern and confident, maybe a hint of anger even. There was no way he’d be trapped in this place. Even if it was safe, he would not be stuck there while she was out doing a job he needed to do. “It’s not safe for either of us to travel alone,” he said, then added, “And someone’s going to see I’m not cramped up in that cabinet if they haven’t already. It’d be worse if they found me here.”
Ciel didn’t know who 'they’ were, but he assumed the maid or the doll-obsessed freak would find him eventually. “Let’s go then.” With that, he walked out of the room. This time though, he was careful. He peeked around before making his move, instead of wandering like he was before. If they were to get anywhere, they had to move quiet and fast. He hugged the walls around corners until they got to where Fiona wanted. The corridor was dark and suspiciously narrow. The earl looked back at Fiona for a brief moment, to evaluate her expression to see if this was what she was referring to, then continued. “It’s just a door down here…” he pointed out, then reached his hand out to the handle. He gripped a small, pale hand around it, but hesitated. What could be waiting for them?
Her response made him come to the realization that most of the people in this place were not their friend. If she wasn’t...
The blonde took a deep breath, nodding as she followed him through the hallway. soon enough, they stood in what seemed...
An irritated sigh escaped him, though anger wasn’t the only emotion pinned on him at the moment. Confusion and sadness...
